Who's Your Daddy?

We are hours away from Pedro Martinez pitching in the World Series and hours away from Yankee fans chanting "Who's Your Daddy?". Yankee fans chat this when Pedro pitches at Yankee Stadium because the Yankees once lit him up in a game in 2004 when he was then a member of the Boston Red Sox, prompting the following press conference remark from Pedro... "They beat me. They're that good and right now, they're that hot. I just tip my hat and call the Yankees my daddy." So, it should be a great scene tonight for Game #2, with the Yankees trailing 1 game to nothing. Anyway, the point of this post is to again say... we are hours away from Pedro Martinez pitching in the World Series. Somehow, he's good enough to take the mound for the defending World Series Champion Phillies, but wasn't good enough for Doug Melvin to bring in to bolster our belegared starting rotation!? A rotation that had the worst ERA in the National League!? Doug Melvin has done some nice things for the Milwaukee Brewers, but he better get this mess of a staff he's put together figured out this offseason, without blowing up the core of this team. We have a small window to succeed here, and he better straighten out this mess. Hiring Rick Peterson was a nice start. But, this might be the offseason of his GM life. Otherwise, there might be a point in time soon where we're chanting "Who's our next GM?"
